This one comes from Ductigami: The Art of the Tape by Joe Wilson. He does a much better job of describing it. Buy the book.

I use this to make covers for my lab books at work. Nothing says "professional" more than a duct tape lab book cover!

  1. Measure the width of the book cover and the thickness of the spine.
  2. Calculate the width of the sheet:
    width + width + spine + 7 7/8" (20 cm)
  3. Make a sheet that is the width calculated above by the height of the cover.
  4. Cover the edges with tape.
  5. Fold over 4" (10 cm) on each side and tape.

Buy the book if you need more help.
